Devil’s Backbone or Euphorbia tithymaloides or Pedilanthus tithymaloides come in diverse varieties each adorned with distinctive variegation, shape and hues. Each Pedilanthus plant variety displays unique and visually striking patters in stems and leaves. The color of the leaves of Pedilanthus plants vary, but typically come in a mix of dark and light green, creamy white and also pink depending upon the variety. This cultivar is variegated, with light green and creamy white combinations, with thick and patterned leaves.

The leaves and the zig-zag stems of the plant are pretty thick as they store plenty of water, making them drought tolerant and therefore conducive to thrive even in arid conditions. Devil’s Backbone or Euphorbia tithymaloides, are very low maintenance resilient plants and thus make an ideal choice for growers living in areas with extremely dry weather.

These plants are perfect for bright indoor and outdoor settings bringing a touch of natural beauty for any space. BnB recommends Euphorbia tithymaloides plants to be ideal for a boundary setting that is exposed to bright indirect or dappled light.

Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just starting out, Devil’s Backbone plants are a fantastic addition to any collection. Easy to care for and visually striking, they’re sure to brighten up your home or garden.

Exposure to sun Devil’s backbone plants thrive well in bright and indirect sunlight. They are also tolerant to a few hours of direct sunlight. However prevent the plant from a prolonged afternoon sunlight exposure, which might cause the leaves to scorch.
Light  Provide bright, indirect light for optimal growth. The plant prefers sufficient light which also plays key role in developing the variegation. A prolonged period of low light may cause wilting of leaves.
Soil Use a well-draining potting mix or even a light weight succulent mix is good. These plants are slow growing but perennial in nature.
Pruning Pinch off the dried leaves. Repot when overcrowded. Propagating is easy with stem cuttings or division.

PLANT TYPE

Sapling

A sapling is a young plant and will come in a smaller size. Why take a sapling? While it is wonderful to watch your little sapling grow, multiply and produce plantlets, take different color variations and forms till it fully matures, some of the saplings require extra care before it hardens and is full grown. While some others are absolutely hands free. If you are ready to give it all the care and love to admire the comparative growth patterns across plants, we suggest you go for a sapling.

Aged

An aged plant will come in a slightly bigger size than a sapling. While we say 'aged', it only means that once a sapling, is now a grown up and would require comparatively less attention than a sapling. If you have the anxiety about going wrong in the process or just cant wait to see a full grown foliage, we recomend you go for an aged plant. Ah ah !! dont get us wrong, age has no bar for plant, they are evergreen, have infinite growth potential and are renewable.
